Game Room Furniture

As I mentioned before, our home was new construction when we purchased it and since it was already built we were stuck with its' flaws (like the floor plan). I don't know why but the builder thought it was  great idea to put an open room smack in the middle of two bedrooms and a bathroom.

We were scratching our heads for a while trying to figure out what to make this funky space into. It only has a tiny window off to one corner and the doors to the bedrooms don't allow for easy furniture placement.

Well, we finally agreed to make it into a "game room" I really don't like having all the the game consoles and movies in our living room because I feel it adds unappealing clutter so this was the perfect solution.

We decided to invest in some high quality pieces since this room will be used A LOT (we like to play Rock Band). We needed furniture that could take the aftermath of competitive evenings that could result your occasional spills. Only thing that came to mind was LEATHER. Much like high-end bags and shoes, you get what you pay for and if you treat these pieces good they will last you a life time.

We went to a local furniture store called Copenhagen and looked at a few options. My husband and I both fell in love with this adjustable couch. The backs can be pulled forward or laid all the way down depending on what you're in the mood for. The arms also fold all the way up and down.

Since leather is so masculine I wanted to soften it up with some fun throws and pillows. The pillows are from the same store. I found the throw and the rug at Home Goods.

We opted for these fun versatile cubes instead of a coffee table. I love them so much! They can be used as storage, trays, or just to put your feet up. I found some very similar ones here.

This white lacquer console has to be my favorite piece in the room. I've never had a console this large before and I can't wait to style it! I haven't decided if I want to hang the black and white art piece (the one in the first photo) or the TV . I found these lamps and candle sticks at Home Goods :)

I will do a full room reveal once I have added the finishing touches.  I would love to hear your feedback on the room.
