Marc Jacobs Nail Polishes - Swatches & First Impression

Last week I made a quick trip to Sephora for a few things that I ran out of and I came across the new Marc Jacobs Cosmetics display. My eyes were quickly drawn to the nail polishes - there were so many gorgeous colors! I had white nail polish on at the time so I picked up a glittery polish to swatch over it (Glinda). It looked so gorgeous in the bottle that I just had to see it on my nails. I got sidetracked chatting with the sales assistant about the new Disney Ariel Collection that I didn't even have time to admire the polish.

It wasn't until that evening, while at dinner with the hubby, that I got a good look at the swatch from earlier. It was so beautiful, maybe it was the romantic lighting in the restaurant that made the glitter really shine but I knew I had to go back for it.

When I returned to Sephora I had a bit of a "swatch party" I must of swatched 10 different polishes (that's why I love this store). I decided on these 3 colors because I felt like they were the most unique out of the bunch and perfect for the fall.

Left to right: Delphine, Blue Velvet, Glinda

Blue Velvet

Blue Velvet - I've never owned this type of blue before and I just love the hint of green in it. It has a a pearl and high gloss finish.

Delphine
Delphine - Mauves are very in right now and this color is the perfect shade to transition into fall. I really think it will compliment any skin tone. It has an opaque finish with high gloss.

Glinda
Glinda - This is the reason I went back. The pictures don't do it justice! If you are looking for that high sparkle statement polish, this is it. The only draw back is its' grainy finish, not a big deal for me because I can always apply a top coat.

Delphine, Blue Velvet
Polishes were applied with no base coat or top coat.

Delphine, Blue Velvet

Glinda

Price - They retail for $18 at Sephora

First Impression - I love the formula and the way the polish applies. The colors that I have are not streaky and only took 2 coats to achieve the results shown in photos. I love the cute shape of the bottles, they are very unique and feel so sleek in your hands.

Only downside about the packaging is that I found the cap to be a bit difficult to take off. I couldn't get a good grip on it so I had to use my shirt every time I had to open it.

Will you be trying anything from this new collection? I would love to hear your thoughts.

xo Liz ♥
