Decorating for the holidays can get a bit challenging for me for two reasons
1. I don't like to spend an arm and a leg on something that I take down after a couple of months
2. I'm OCD about my decor matching the rest of the room
My solution:
1. I Shop at discount stores and incorporate as many items that I already have in my home.
2. I throw the rule book out the window, who says your Fall Decor has to be nothing but browns and coppers??
Here are a few ideas if you have the same problems as I do.
This first one is what I like to call Elegant and Minimalist
I really love this one, it looks great with the monochromatic theme that I have going on and the gold adds a pop of color. I feel this white pumpkin will transition nicely into the Christmas season, BONUS!
This is what I call Fun and Girly
Do you remember this owl cup from a previous coffee station styling post? I love finding new uses for things. I filled it with some cute nail polishes all in very appropriate fall colors. and added the orange book for a little height and color. The owl is from Ross (purchased it last year) it was sitting on the bottom of my nightstand.
This is what I decided for now, I will eventually switch it up to one of the first 2 but I really wanted to use the pretty pumpkin and the candle (it's a custard and apple cinnamon candle OMG smells amazing). I feel like it's in between elegant and fun.
Hope this gives you some ideas! I am in the middle of spray painting some mini pumpkins for an upcoming Thanksgiving project ;)

hehe Love this so much!!! i recently re-did my coffee table as well but still have to take photos of it :) I'll probably post it up next week since I just did the mantle post today.
ReplyDeletebut i love this! i agree with you, who says you have to decorate with oranges, so much browns and reds and all that!? i think sticking with the "natural elements" (color wise) is perfect and gorgeous! plus you can use it for other seasons right? hehe that's exactly what i did with my mantle. though i still feel like mine isn't complete (still hunting for the perfect vase lol)
anyways, i love this post of yours! i can't wait to see more :D hehe
Oooops! the other one had my wrong url haha

Love the decor posts. Right now I'm really into monochromatic colour tones as well, and I like adding natural elements like mini pumpkins & squash, wreathes and wheat bundles. Fall and winter decor is my favourite!
ReplyDeleteLove your decor style! Reading this post inspires me to change up my coffee table decoration for the fall season as well :)
