Hello Beauties! I wanted to start off the new year with a makeup review and swatches in hopes that they become a bit more regular. So here is the first drugstore collection that caught my eye, can you guess why??
If you thought "adorable packaging" then you know me too well! It is no secret that I am a sucker for cute packaging.
This is the Nude Wear Collection from Physicians Formula. There were a total of 4 items, if memory serves; a blush, bronzer, face powder and highlighter concealer pen.
I picked everything up with the exception of the face powder because I'm very picky when it comes to those.
I love that they each come with their own mirror and the brushes are bit scratchy but lets be honest, I never use the brushes that are included :)
Glowing Nude Bronzer
I'll start off my saying that the powders are very silky. They bronzer left more of a sheen than a bronzy look on my skin. Then again, it matched my complexion too well. I think this bronzer would show up a lot better on someone with lighter skin tone than mine. I would not use this product as a bronzer at all but rather as a highlighter during the summer time for that sun kissed glow.
Glowing Nude Blush
The blush was also pretty sheer but very pretty. It gives a very light natural flush effect along with a very subtle sheen. I feel this will also be great for the summer time when I tend to keep my makeup to a minimum.
Touch of Glow Nude Wear Concealer/Highlighting Pen
I'm still on the fence about this highlighter pen. I haven't tried it with a full face of makeup yet and I think that might be the only way it will look ok against my tan skin. It's too light for me to use it as a concealer. It kind of reminds me of the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Brightener (which I used to love as a highlighter).
As adorable as the packaging for this collection is, I really wish the colors were a bit more pigmented and the highlighter pen came in different shades.
If you're into the very natural subtle look then I think you would love these products. I personally prefer a little more pigment when it comes to my bronzers and blushes but I suppose it is not what this collection is intended to be, hence the name: "Nude Wear".
I purchased mine from ULTA and they retailed between $12.99 and $14.99
Have any of you tried this collection yet, what are your thoughts?

i love this packaging, it reminds me of a mac collection that came out but i forgot what the name was, but the prices were higher for it
ReplyDeleteI think I missed that collection! I would've been all over it :)
DeleteSo soft and pretty!
ReplyDeleteI know! They outdid themselves in the cuteness department.
DeleteThe packaging is very pretty. I feel like the products would be too light for me so hopefully they do come out with colors that are a bit more pigment for us women of color:).

I agree, they need to come out with more selections! I have been playing around with the bronzer and find that the color pay off is a lot better when the shades are applied individually :)
DeleteI like natural look. Love the blush color on you though.
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteI agree I am a SUCKER for a cute package but I would have rather saved the money and gone for cuteness plus function ( more pigments) like the Benefit boxed blushes. I literally bought mine the day before your post came out I saw a million pics on instagram and ran to my Ulta worried that they would sell out :( bummer but they make for adorable photos on insta and cutness for my vanity.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, did you pick up the highlighter as well? That actually ended up working out for me as a brighter on my cheekbones. I agree though, cuteness + function is definitely the way to go.
